Here is how to access the wetlands mask:

 ORNL has re-arranged their site.  
 The below is updated (15Sep2010) to match the new URLs and appearance.

go directly to the LBA DAAC Beija Flor search page
- http://mercdev3.ornl.gov/lba/
in the search box in the middle of the page,
- enter (no quotes) melack basinwide mask
- (and click "search")
on the results page, it will show
- LBA-ECO LC-07 BASINWIDE AMAZON WETLANDS 100M MASK BASED ON JERS SAR IMAGES (V.Apr08) inside a yellow bar.
- Below that and to the right, in a grey box, click on "View full metadata"
this page shows all the information about this wetland mask.
- Keep a copy of that page.
Scroll down to Download Data Sets,
- in the section "Download Data Sets" below the yellow "IMPORTANT" box.
- Just below that box you see two URLs from which you can download the mask.
- The same April 2008 version of the mask is at both of those URLs.
- If you need technical assistance with the ftp or the browser downloads from those URLs, email gastil@lifesci.ucsb.edu.
Also please see the "Data Set User's Guide" just below the data download link.
